The New original Art Squared miniature art trading card (#16) by Joe Scoppa. The image dimensions are similar to ACEO standard size, but squared instead of rectangular , ie, 2.5 x 2.5 inches or 6 x 6 cm.
Most of my miniature art is created by a combination of collage of scraps of paper or newspaper, black or coloured ink pens, crayons, or brushes, odd bits of found objects, and often incorporate text. I also sometimes use traditional watercolour, acrylic, or oil paint. I use thick fine-art artist quality paper (300gm(140lb)/m2) for support.
The name of each piece is an integral part of the work as it reflects my reaction to the finished product. All my works are unique and are signed, dated and titled on the back. Each card comes with an acid-free plastic cover for protection.
Miniature art and art trading cards have become very popular and its a great way to obtain original art at very affordable prices. There are lots of ways to display and store them...clear trading card holders, albums with plastic sleeve pages, etc... or they can be matted and framed, pinned up to the walls in your cubicle at work, used as mini gifts, birthday cards, or bookmarks.
