This is a perfectly serviceable (albeit hardly definitive) nine song Cheap Trick sampler (beware the incorrect track listing: the album does not start, as listed, with the band's greatest number "Surrender," but rather with the title tune, heard here in its less familiar studio version).
In any case, everything else here is a treat, from the ABBEY ROAD-ish "Heaven Tonight" to the Who-ish "Dream Police" to an absolutely stupendous live version of "Day Tripper." The band's inventive mix of Anglo-pop/rock influences (these guys probably have Move albums imprinted on them at the cellular level) and American attitude is irresistible.
