I have been accused more than once of being a bit crazy, over-the-top, off my rocker, not on the planet, eccentric in the 3rd degree, and so on when it comes to mechanical works of art and high end collectables. I've been told more often than I care to recall that I could own real versions of many of the toys I collect for less that the cost of full-size versions. Yep, right there too.
Recently I came across another miniature engine project that I want to pursue, so I thought I would give the world of ebay more to talk about and offer this incredible example of mechanical art and see if there is just one real collector out there that understands and appreciates what it takes to build something as incredible as this 1/3 Scale V-Twin Engine shown in the pictures.
The engine was built by the very talented and esteemed model engineer, Randall Cox. The detail and workmansip is incredible.Keep your eyes open for some other collectables as I offer some very rare itemsIt was designed to showcase how the typical V-Twin Engine works, and so is partially cut-away. Yes it runs, and it starts easier than most of the real ones.
This is a very fun and entertaining motor to show your friends. I fire it up in my office and visitors are just amazed. Comments are often "wow it sounds just like a Harley" !! Ask whatever reasonable questions you feel appropriate. This is an inition engine and uses spark plugs not glow-plugs.
Here are two links to it running:
