1/43 China FAW CA71 Dong Feng Golden Dragon Limited Edition Passenger Car
The model is high quality finished in Resin with fine detail by Century Dragon Hong Kong. The quality is excellent as the prototype. The model is brand new in Mint Box, and never displayed.
History:
In 1957, China started to design its own cars. The First Automobile Works (FAW), upon receipt of the notice from No. 1 Ministry of Automobiles, carried out the development thereof. In the period of only six months from November 1957 to May 1958, the prototype vehicles named “Dongfeng Brand” were made.
This Dongfeng 71 model is a 5-seat car, with a streamline body design, equipped with cooling and heating system. The rear light design is a classic red palace lantern, extremely characteristic of national styles, and the front engine hood decorated with a golden dragon. The engine of this car is a copy of that of German “Benz-190”. But at that time, China wished to have cars of its own design both exterior and interior. Therefore, after 30 cars had been made, the production of “Dongfeng Golden Dragon” was suspended.
On the basis of the real pattern of these cars, Century Dragon remade them perfectly at 1:43 scale. From these new models, you can imagine the delight when the first car was successfully made in China. The car body of these models was cherry red, perfectly the same with that of original ones, according to Mr. Cheng Zheng, who had scrutinized them. “They have achieved 95% of the original color”, he remarked.
