Description
New Page 1

Greetings marble world!

This week consider this Eye of the Jungle marble, hand-formed from borosilicate glass by myself here in my home studio, i.e. John Bridges of Black Fire Glassworks here in Eugene, Oregon.

This wavering orb measures ~1 5/8" (40mm) in diameter and is signed "JSB 5-08".

It belongs to the family of marbles that I call Intel-Diplo. It is carefully rounded and annealed most thoroughly for structural integrity.

It is "Eye of the Jungle" for quiet observation from behind the safety of the veil.

I'm becoming obsessed with subtle veiny textures, the kind of ambient crackle that fills all space, but only on average, permeated with void.

There's something deeply soothing about these marbles; they carry a swirling energy like cloud-patterns on a windy day. They feel like the forms are moving beneath the surface.

Note that the image directly below is taken with a white background to better show the green.

Shipping is FREE as always in the U.S.A., unless you desire something more powerful than Priority Mail. If you desire international shipping I'll credit you an amount equal to shipping in the U.S. Sound OK?

Thanks for looking!!!!!
