Background:Lemon verbena has been used in Europe since the late 18th century as a beverage. It also has medicinal properties that make it useful in aiding digestion. Lemon verbena can also be used as a sleep aid and helps to battle anxiety and depression.

Applications: Tonic/Digestive

Lemon verbena is primarily used as a digestive aid.

Digestion: Lemon verbena can be used to relieve cramps and bloating.

Relaxation: Lemon verbena may be used to help promote relaxation and lift mild depression.

Description:
Lemon verbena hails from its native land of South America. The leaves that are used for medicinal and culinary purposes are harvested in the summer. Lemon verbena is a shrub that grows as high as 6 feet and has a strong scent.

Dosage:

As an infusion, add 1 tsp dried herbs or 2 tsp fresh herbs to 1 cup of water. Take up to 5 times daily.
