QRS was founded in 1900 by Melville Clark (of Story & Clark piano fame) who developed the player piano as we know it today. QRS supplied music rolls to the player piano market, with production peaking in 1927, when QRS Music Company sold 10 million rolls.The player piano's heyday lasted from 1900 until the Great Depression in the 1930s.

The poverty of the Great Depression, along with the development of affordable radios (which started becoming commonplace around 1927) effectively ended player piano production. However, the demand for rolls continued and was reinvigorated in the 1950s when people began restoring old player pianos. QRS remains the only manufacturer of piano rolls in the world today. In 1986,

QRS began focusing on new technologies, and in 1989 released its first digital retrofit player piano kit under the Pianomation™ name. Today QRS is an industry leader in introducing fun innovations in home musical entertainment. QRS Music Technologies became a public company in 1996.

Shipping

We pass shipping costs, including insurance costs straight through to our buyers.  A packaging and handling (s&h) fee is included to cover the cost of materials and labor.  Fees start at $.50 for envelopes and $2.00 for small boxes.  Most s&h fees do not exceed $6.00 except for very large or heavy items requiring additional packaging and labor.

Many items are available for quick shipping.  If you need it now, give us a call or send us a message and let us know what item you're interested in.  In many cases we can ship the same day and send it via overnight delivery.

We accept Paypal, Visa, MasterCard, or Amex credit cards, and money orders.   To pay by credit card click on the PayPal link at checkout.  We charge sales tax for sales in New Mexico.   For International buyers, we accept payment through verified PayPal accounts only.

Winning bidders must contact us, checkout or pay for items within 48 hours of the end of the auction.

Please notify us if you are requesting additional payment time to avoid an unpaid item strike.

Photos

We try to take all of our own pictures of items, but we sometimes rely on other sources. Our in-studio pictures are taken shortly before the item is listed.  All item pictures display the actual goods for sale unless otherwise noted.  We try to picture all pertinent details for the items such as condition, wear marks, damage, etc.  Item photos generally show the entire item(s) offered, but item descriptions provide the only and entire information about the offering.

We try to carefully inspect and/or test all of the items that we sell, and post the results of the testing in our description of the item. Returns will only be considered if the function or condition is not as described. Where an item is described as untested, sales are as-is.
