Description

This auction is for an antique French doll and her pet dog, Frippon.  She is approximately 10 1/2 inches tall.  Her bisque socket head is incised with: S.F.B.J., 60, PARIS, 8/0.  Her bisque is damage free with no hairlines, cracks, chips or repairs.  There are a few paint rubs and overall manufacture roughness - not meant to be a fine doll at the time!  She has painted bright blue eyes that are slightly side glancing.  There are painted lashes above and below and single stroke painted brows.  She just a small open slit at her mouth wht painted lips and four molded upper teeth.  She has a wood and composition ball jointed body.  It is in fair condition with some cracking, paint loss and chippage.  One upper arm appears repainted or replaced.  She is well strung and poses nicely.  She is wearing replacement clothing.  The dress is raw silk that is edged in lace and decorated with a pink silk bow.  She is also wearing newer replacement pantaloons.  Her mohair wig is quite sparse and has a cardboard pate.   She also comes with a replacement Frippon puppy to keep her company.  He is in excellent condition.  They are from a smoke free home and are completely odor free.  The dollstand is not included.  They are so sweet!!  I have not seen this mold with painted eyes before so I thought she was quite neat!  Take this chance to add them to your collection today!!!
