10” Hand-Chased KIRK STERLING BOWL Vermeil Repousse

Gorgeous and shining in gold vermeil, this fruit or flower bowl by S. Kirk & Son, Inc., American silversmiths, weighs in at 518 grams and measures 10” diameter by 5.25” high with a 31-1/2” Circumference at the widest point. The House of Kirk perfected the hand-chased sterling silver repouse technique; this bowl has a heavy gold vermeil finish. Around top rim and foot of pedestal are mold-cast applied shell and scroll borders. This bowl dates pre-1975, marked on bottom: “S Kirk & Son Inc // Sterling // 42 // A”; there are no dents, rubs or damage beyond miniscule rubs off the underneath tips of feet. Pages from the 1975 catalogue showing item #42A, plus company history, are included. A beautiful, mint, center bowl for dining table or buffet.
