Shea butter is a thick and rich butter extracted from the kernel of the karite tree located throughout African savannas. It has been used for thousands of years as a skin and hair conditioner due to its superior healing, moisturizing, and revitalizing factors. The name karite means "life-giving". The Shea nut tree was given this name because of the multitude of benefits it provides.

Imported directly from Ghana, we offer our purest shea butter in its unrefined state. Perfect for wrinkles, stretch marks, or just to moisturize with no added oils or fragrances.

Don't be fooled, "refined" is not better! Refining shea butter is usually done by bleaching and deodorizing it; neutralizing it with lye; and over-heating it to very high temperatures.

Some companies may offer shea butter that has been extracted using the toxic petrochemical, hexane. Shea Essentials guarantees that you will receive the finest and purest unrefined shea butter available in all of our products. Our 100% pure unrefined shea butter has been extracted using traditional methods and remains in its nutrient rich, natural unrefined state. This keeps it rich in vitamins, nutrients and UV absorbing factors so that it maintains a higher healing fraction than any other cosmetic oil, including refined shea butter.

We do not heat and pour our shea butter into the containers. Although heat to a certain degree does not affect the effectiveness of shea butter, we hand pack ours to eliminate the grittiness you sometimes get when shea butter has been heated.  Our shea butter is packed into reusable containers for clean, safe storage.  Shea Butter has an average shelf life of 18 months and a little goes a long way!

**Please Note: This product is not packaged in containers. It will be handpacked in a resealable bag for your convenience. Shea may be from white, off-white or yellow. There is no difference, it all has the same benefits. We will place an ice cold pack in each order so that your shea doesn't melt during transit.

SALES TAX

All orders delivered in the state of Maryland will be charged MD State sales tax (6%).

At this time, Shea Essentials, LLP ships merchandise only to locations within the continental United States and not to international locations; Nor does Shea Essentials, LLP ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam or the US Virgin Islands. The risk of loss and title for all merchandise ordered on this Web site pass to you when the merchandise is delivered to the shipping carrier.

All orders will be shipped via USPS (United States Postal Service). Most orders are processed and shipped within 1-2 business days of the receipt of payment. You will receive an e-mail confirmation from the USPS when your order has been shipped. This e-mail will include your tracking number. Delivery confirmation is included on each order. Delivery confirmation simply confirms that the package arrived safely at its destination. This means that information regarding your shipment may not be available until after it has reached your door.

Shea Essentials will pack your items with care. (In kindness to our environment, we will recycle shipping materials as much as possible.) We cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged after leaving our warehouse.  Shipping insurance is provided at your option.

Return Policy

Shea Essentials wants you to be happy with your purchase. Due to the nature of our products, ALL SALES ARE CONSIDERED FINAL. However, If you receive faulty, damaged, incorrect  or unsatisfactory merchandise, we will work with you to find a mutually beneficial transaction outcome. If you are not 100% satisfied with your order, please email us at cs@shea-essentials.com within 7 days of the shipment of your order for return authorization number and return instructions. Shipping charges and return shipping charges cannot be refunded. No unauthorized returns will be accepted.

Don't be fooled by commercial products that have small percentages of shea butter in them.  Shea Butter can only be affective in the restoration, protection and rejuvenation of skin when in its rawest available form and when it is a significant enough component of the product itself.  CHECK THE LABEL!  Shea Essentials uses maximum levels of Shea Butter in each of its products to give your skin as much of this wonderful product as possible.
