Lots of room for child to discover the process and innovate on the basic ideas. Summerhill School is an independent British boarding school that was founded in 1921 by Alexander Sutherland Neill with the belief that the school should be made to fit the child, rather than the other way around. It is still run as a democratic community; the running of the school is conducted in the school meetings, which anyone, staff or pupil, may attend, and at which everyone has an equal vote. Summerhill is noted for its philosophy that children learn best with freedom from coercion. All lessons are optional, and pupils are free to choose what to do with their time. Neill founded Summerhill with the belief that "the function of a child is to live his own life — not the life that his anxious parents think he should live, not a life according to the purpose of an educator who thinks he knows best." Though eBay tells you that a "4" is GOOD - IT DOES NOT COMPUTE THAT WAY- A "4" is an UNACCEPTABLE rating - as high as a 4.7 average lowers a Seller's chance to have her auctions show up in the search results, thus impeding her ability to make sales, raises the fees eBay charges her, and in some cases may prohibit a seller from even selling on eBay. If you give a Seller a Positive rating, please support that by rating her with "5's". If you are unhappy in any way, talk to her - email her, communicate! AND PLEASE NOTE THAT "Shipping Time" means how long between payment and taking the book to the post office -- NOT how long USPS takes to deliver the package - In mailing thousands of books, I HAVE NEVER FAILED TO MAIL A BOOK WITHIN 3 BUSINESS DAYS OF PAYMENT - My DSR for Shipping Time should be a perfect "5"! ************************************************ PLEASE DO NOT PAY ME UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN INVOICE! INTERNATIONAL BUYERS NOTE: 1. IF YOU ARE AN INTERNATIONAL BIDDER--YOU MUST REQUEST THE COST OF SHIPPING BEFORE BIDDING -- OTHERWISE, SINCE POSTAGE HAS GONE UP FROM THE US YOU MAY HAVE A NASTY SURPRISE! 2.You may be responsible for customs fees and experience longer shipping times due to customs-related delays. I ship generally within 3 business days of end of auction/receipt of payment - usually on Mondays and Wednesdays or Thursdays. United States ONLY Media Mail shipping $3.75 includes Delivery Confirmation ABOUT MEDIA MAIL - It is the lowest cost way to ship books in the US. It is extremely reliable but it is NOT fast unless you live very close to me (West Coast US). It can take anywhere from 4 - 20 BUSINESS DAYS to arrive (business days are Monday through Friday, no holidays). When you pay me, you can figure out from that formula about how long at the least or at the most, it might take for your book to arrive. If you live in Hawaii or Alaska you can pretty well count on it taking a month to get your book, at least. If you are in a hurry, ask me about upgrading to Priority Mail and I'll change your invoice. If your book seems to take too long, contact your local Post Office - sometimes PO's overlook Media Mail or sometimes try to deliver a pkg and you don't get a notice |
