ITEM DESCRIPTION: I have no expertise on beads. We got these in a larger deal we bought from an importer a number of years ago - and they were old, surplus stock back then. But they are still in their original, un-opened cases of 20 strands. We opened 1 case for pictures and inspection. Please look at pictures and ask questions. The extent of my knowledge is this: This listing is for a case lot of 20 mixed-glass-bead strands that run about 5 feet each (we measured 2 - both were 31 inches doubled). Total of 100 feet of glass beads per case (20 strands at 5 feet per strand). Strands are from India. "New" - but old stock. Probably from the 70s, but that's just a guess. Some beads will be chipped and broken, some will be "blob-like", and a few will be fused into doubles. These are not cookie-cutter beads, many of them have their own unique quirks. These are not strands of matched, perfect beads - It's a mix of shapes including: seed-bead shape (but larger), rough-edged and not symmetrical, blob-like, egg-shaped (most of these are swirled colors), a few faceted, a few rectangular/cubic, and I'm sure some others mixed in. I counted 2 strands - one was 405 beads (mostly smaller beads) and one was 350 (a number of larger beads) - so I'll say they average 350 beads per strand to be safe - that's 7,000 (probably closer to 7500) beads total for a case of 20 strands! ALL ARE GLASS! Overall, most common are the blue beads (from about 2X5 up to 5X7 mm). The case we inspected also had a mix of some larger lampwork (??) swirled and egg-shape beads (around 8X12 mm) - and a few similar but rectangular pieces. Also a few faceted, a few milk-glass, and a few each of numerous colors (pale green, red, dark green, orange, topaz-brown, deep blue, etc.). No two strands are alike, but the blue beads are dominant across the lot. These are great strands to strip and get a nice variety of glass beads for making your own jewelry! They have a very Eastern/Indian look to them. Feedback on this item:
