108 PORTRAITS by Gus van Sant, LTD ED SLIPCASE SIGNED

This extremely rare debut collection of photographs by Gus Van Sant is one of the 100 SIGNED and NUMBERED SLIPCASE edition copies (126 were made, but only 100 were made available for sale).  This title presents Gus Van Sant’ s beautiful and moving portraits of actors, artists, writers, friends and lovers.  Each portrait is photographed from the front with minimal lighting, with the effects of light and shadow bringing out the expressiveness of each of his subjects’ faces and bodies.  Some of the subjects include William S. Burroughs, Dennis Hopper, Ken Kesey, Keanu Reeves, Allen Ginsberg, Francesco Clemente, David Bowie, John Waters, Matt Dillon and Sandra Bernhard.

This LIMITED EDITION includes a first edition hardcover book with pictorial dust jacket, which is housed inside a black linen bound slipcase, and is offered in AS NEW condition, and is still under Publisher’s wraps.  The slipcase is blind stamped with the title and author in black. The book measures 10.25 x 13 inches, and is un-paginated, but contains 108 black and white plates.  The book is boldly signed by Gus van Sant and numbered by the Publisher.
