Madame Alexander’s 11” Amy of The Little Women was the artist of the family like myself-which is why I received her for my birthday in about 1964. I was a little old for dolls when I got her, so I never actually played with her. This explains her good condition. In the last 8 years I have had her restrung so her 5 ball shaped joints are tight and allow for plenty of movement. I also washed her clothes. Amy retains all of her original clothing including her sky blue broad cloth dress with white lawn lace edged pinafore, crinoline, pantaloons, white nylon ankles, and black velvet “Mary Jane” shoes with snap straps. Her hair is in perfect condition-honey blonde ringlets upswept at the sides and caught at the crown of her head in a black velvet bow. Amy’s dark gray-blue eyes open and shut in her porcelain complexion with it’s peach blush cheek, lightly painted eyebrow and lower lashes, and coral colored lips. I do not have the original box or tags. After all, she is about 43 years old.
You can see some discoloration on her pinafore and dress. Also the elastic isn’t tight on her pantaloons or slip. Please write with questions or it you need additional photos. |
