DESCRIPTION:
This listing is for the art print portfolio "Bred To Run". It contains 11 black and white lithographs by one of the most famous equestrian artists of the last century C.W. Anderson (1891-1971).
Anderson was an artist, author, and horse lover who depicted all types of horses in his artwork.
The descriptive booklet details the medium of lithography that was used to create each of the prints in the portfolio. Each image is also shown and described at length. This portfolio is missing one litho, that of the Arabian horse.
The lithos have never been matted, framed, or pinned to the wall. They are in excellent condition with no fading, creases, foxing or edgewear. The booklet is also in excellent shape. The cardboard portfolio is in excellent shape as well with some very light soil.
The paper that the prints were printed on is very heavy and lightly textured. The prints are high quality and the set was published by the MacMillan Company. This is a very nice set of one of the more unusual portfolios by C. W. Anderson and is a must for Thoroughbred horse lovers.
