It has a beautiful shaped cornice adorned with elegant protruding accents and fancy fretwork and it features a gorgeous large scalloped and beveled mirror on the center that has 3 shelves, 2 of glass removable, a scalloped top that has lead glazed *astragal stained glass that can be lighted up with the use of its internal light sockets (the ac cord may need an ac plug to work), 2 cabinets on the sides that also have light sockets and they have a total of 6 shelves, 4 of glass removable, 2 exquisite lead glazed astragal stained glass doors, 4 conventional turned columns, decorative scroll & foliage accents, 4 smooth operating drawers with dovetail joinery that have antiqued metal handles and 3 spacious cabinets on the bottom that have a total of 6 shelves, 3 removable, and they have distinguished paneled doors with very attractive oval designs and beveled frames with floral carvings.
The front has a spacious L shaped top surface and its front is beautifully adorned with round moldings with columns that have carved capitals and fancy foot brass rails, and its back has a total of 9 shelves including 2 that have stemware racks and 5 wine bottle racks that can hold up to 20 bottles. What is astragal (wood or lead) glazing? As it pertains to later period furniture, it is a method of securing glass to the straight, semi-circular, or shaped moldings found on glass doors and windows of furniture. On newer reproduction furniture, the astragal molding may set atop the glass to give the appearance of glazing where on older English furniture, it is not uncommon for each piece of glass to be cut to shape and glazed into the molding.
