A large, dumbell shaped Indochinite Tektite from Space
Tektites are a formation natural glass that have fallen to Earth following a massive asteroid or comet strike.This form of Tektite was formed over three quarters of a million (770,000) years ago when an asteroid fell to Earth. The resulting strew field from the original impact would have sent an immense batch of Tektites and Micro Tektites over 10% of the Earths surface. The resulting area is called the Australsian strew field.
This specimen measures 55mm long and is as pictured and weighs 21.4 grams.
