High Fidelity/Clarity Mod Part 1
Changing two of the low quality stock polyester .047uF capacitors to higher quality Metal Film Capacitors makes for a tighter bottom and more fullness of tone throughout.

Changing the 2 inferior stock 1uf electrolytic capacitors to superior Metal Film Capacitors provides a more focused tone and increases the definition of the gain structure.

Bass Response
The stock Tube Screamer doesn't allow all of the bass frequencies to pass through. By changing the 470 ohm output resistor to a 100 ohm Carbon Comp resistor, this allows the full spectrum of bass frequencies to pass without altering or sacrificing the classic Tube Screamer sound.

High End Response
By using a 100k ohm output resistor, the stock Tube Screamer allows a lot of noise to pass through your signal. By changing the 100k ohm resistor to a 10k ohm resistor, this mod limits the high end hiss as there are no usable guitar frequencies past 10k ohms. It also helps to make the tone control more useful without altering the classic Tube Screamer sound.

Overdrive Response
When the Drive control is zeroed and the level maxed for clean boost (a real treat if you've never tried it) there is the sweetest bit of gain on single notes with single coils and some Texas grit with Humbuckers.  And as you crank the gain past half-way it is a good bit fatter than a stock TS5.  I like setting it to Clean Boost (Gain 0, Level 5-10, Tone 6) and leaving it on all the time so that when I switch channels is adds some *sparkle* to the clean channel and some *sizzle* to the gain channel.
