This is a group of 12 unusual fossil teeth from a single site in South Carolina. I assume these teeth are from some species of fish, but I absolutely could be wrong. In fact, when I was collecting this site many years ago, I recall there being some discussion about these teeth being from some species of sea bird, but I'm not sure about that. They are very interesting teeth for sure! The condition is excellent overall, with great detail & colors. This should make a great group for research or a collection. The largest tooth measures 5/8" (15mm) in length. The winning bidder will receive the exact group of teeth pictured! They were found in Oligocene age deposits, in the Chandler Bridge Formation, near Goose Creek, South Carolina. The site was in a subdivision known as "The Hamlets". Thanks for looking & good luck. |
