If you want to buy this item right now please click on my eBay store MRHULOT located in my seller information box shown at the top of this page.

You are bidding on six unique items that any Civil war buff would love to have. They are;

A set of 14 Rare Confederate coin and paper money reproductions, one BIG CD with 1250 B&W Authentic Civil War Photographs, and four extra items, ( see below)!

All for one BARGAIN price !

This is one of the most popular items I sell. THE PRICE IS SO LOW MANY CUSTOMERS BUY EXTRAS AS UNIQUE GIFTS FOR THOSE HARD TO BUY FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Please read the feedback from my many happy customers that have bought this unusual item.

Some information about the coins and paper money reproductions:

Hello,

I sell different Confederate reproductions individually on eBay and Yahoo. Many people have asked to buy all of them at one time instead of individually. All of the rare and beautiful coin and paper money reproductions I sell individually I am now offering together in one auction for the lowest possible price. The money you will save by buying this entire collection of currency reproductions is substantial.

As an example, many of the coins I sell individually often end up being bid well over the starting price of $4.95. The Confederate Half Dollar and other reproductions often go for $10-$15. To buy all 4 coins and set of 10 paper notes for $14.95 is a true bargain. This is less than $3 a coin, but when you consider all of the other items included with this set it is even a bigger value.

To see a close up photo of any of the coins listed below you may also go to the individual coin auction where I have a large photo of the individual coin.If too many people are viewing the album at once it may take a long time to load so you may wish to open it up at a later time if you experience difficulty. All of these coins are made from a lead free metal, not Bronze, Gold or Silver.

To keep these reproduction from being sold as the real item , the word copy has been imprinted on the reverse side..These are quality reproductions- extremely detailed and accurate.

An authentic collection of rare and famous coins in this excellent condition could cost you a small fortune. If you can't afford the finest collection of historical Confederate coins then you can now afford this beautiful collection of hand made reproductions.

Rare Restrike of the Confederate Half Dollar

In 1861 all US mints in the states which comprised the Confederate States of America were confiscated by the Confederacy.

At the New Orleans mint 87% of all U.S. 1861-O Half Dollars were minted by the confederacy.

The director of the New Orleans mint under the Confederacy caused a design to be created and then engraved a die for a Confederate Half Dollar. Only four pieces were ever struck

( these on a hand press) and they bore the same obverse ( or front) as the 1861-O U.S. dollar.

This is the only Confederate coin bearing an image designed by the Confederate officials and produced within the Confederate states.

Only Four were ever made!

Certainly this is the rarest Confederate coin that exsts and its price today ( for one of the four) could quite easily be as much as one hundred thousand dollars.

The original die and the four original strikes have been lost to public view and private access. This is a totally authentic restrike produced directly from the 1861-O half dollar obverse and the Confederate reverse.

Restrike of the Confederate Cent

Made from the original Confederate dies made by Rober Lovett, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the Confederate States of America.

Mr. Lovett said he received the order to make these cents for the Confederacy from a well known jewelry firm in Philadelphia. He became afraid that the United states government might arrest him for giving assistance to the enemy so he buried them in his cellar until after the war was over. These dies are now in the Smithsonian.Only 59 coins were known to have been struck.

Rare Confederate $5& $20 Gold coin

left-$5 Right $20

On April 29, 1861, Superintendent Elmore forwarded a design to Secretary Memminger. This design was prepared by the New Orleans Architectural firm of Messers, Galler & Esterbrook. The description which accompanied this design is as follows.

".... The principal figure, the Goddess of Liberty, seated, holds in her right hand a staff surmounted by the liberty cap; her left arm rests on a shield, ( there being no coat of arms being yet adopted) is shown a portion of the flag of the Confederate, unfurled, to the left of the figure will be observed sugar cane growing, a bale of cotton, a sugar hogshead, and a bale of tobacco,; to the right , cotton in its various stages of growth, as also tobacco. On the reverse side is shown an endless chain composed of fifteen links; South Carolina having taken the lead, occupies the top link, and the other link represents, left and right, the other states in the order of their succession; the remaining blank lines are an invitation to the border states to hasten to inscribe their names within the circle. The stars of the confederate states are distinct: those of the border states are in twilight, but visible, soon, we hope, to stand boldly as their neighbors. In the center is inscribed the monogram, composed of the letters C.S.A.

Judah B. Benjamin proposed that the government issue a $5 gold coin of the exact value of the English Soverign. " I would call the coin a cavalier. Our golden cavalier would be in French, cavalier d'or, in Spanish Caballero d'oro, in Italian, cavaliere d'oro. we would have $5 and $20 gold pieces called cavaliers and quadruple cavaliers."

Ten Confederate paper dollars

collection.
An authentic set of   Confederate paper currency  in any condition could cost you  a small fortune. Currently, some Confederate paper money is worth several hundred dollars per note. This is a nice set of reproductions printed on heavy paper stock.

To keep this reproduction from being sold as the real item , the word copy has been printed on the reverse side. There are 10 notes in all. I only have scanned 9 to save space. The last note is a one dollar bill from the Bank of Chattanooga that has a steam train on the front.

These paper notes are not as good as the originals but are a nice and super inexpensive set to get you started. They would look nice mounted also. The reverse of the bills is not as graphic as the face or front of the bills and is mostly a plain geometric design with the denomination incorporated into the design

The photos below are smaller than the actual size. Each of the 10 bills measures 7&1/2x 3&1/2 inches.

extra  Item # 1

Parchment mounting Paper

An 8 1/2 x 11 inch printed parchment paper ( paper only- not the frame) is included with all Confederate currency sets. This paper will help you mount and frame them with your own frame easily . The title Currency of Confederate States of America is at the top and a title and year for each of the 4 coins is printed at the bottom. FRAME NOT INCLUDED!

This is a terrible scan - the coins are reflective and did not show up well. You can buy 8x10 frames like the one shown at the dollar store or a larger frame and mat this collection professionally to show it off well. These coins make a very unique and inexpensive gift when framed. Many of my buyers have bought sets previously and are buying more as gifts or are buying several at one time. These coin sets make geat presents for those hard to buy for people.

The BIG CD of 1250 Civil War Photographs!

I am adding to this wonderful CSA set of currency reproductions a BIG CD of 1250 Civil War Photographs. This is a real bargain as the CD alone goes for over $10 in my other auctions.

If you win this auction you not only get 14 different Confederate Coins and paper Notes with a paper frame mount  included, but you also get the BIG CD of 1250 Civil War Photographs! This huge CD of photographs has hundreds and hundreds of high resolution photographs that can be printed out on photo paper and can then be made into very unique quality gifts and collector items at a very low cost to you.

Some of the people that have purchased this CD have made quite a bit of extra money from selling these Civil War photos at Flea markets and Fairs, etc.

This CD also makes a wonderful personal gift to any Civil War buff as many of these rare photos are the same ones used in Ken Burns extraordinary and unforgettable PBS series on the Civil war.

This BIG CD is not captioned but does come with a simple to use image viewer on the CD that makes it very easy to browse with any computer that has WINDOWS.

Some of the photo subjects include:

extra Item #2

I would like to add to the beautiful set of Confederate money and Giant Civil war Photo CD a unique guidebook I wrote.

If you win this auction, you not only get the Coin set but you also get the electronic or ebook version of the guidebook I wrote on starting your own part time or full time business buying and selling on Internet auctions. It is a very popular and fun to read guidebook that has sold over 1500 copies on eBay alone.

extra  Item #3 -The Lincoln Papers on CD

extra  item #4 -The Memoirs of U.S. Grant on CD

The Memoirs of U.S. Grant are pretty special. If you have never read them you are in for a surprise and a treat. They are great. Most of the Civil war writings are a little hard to read. The writing style has not held up for most authors of the time. Grants memoirs are superb. The style is very modern and packed with drama of real events. At the time of his death Grant was more popular than Lincoln and his memoirs sold several hundred thousand copies. It was a blockbuster seller of a book for his day and deserves re reading. I am including just a few excerpts from over 70 of his chapters covering his birth to the end of the Civil war. It is a must read for any Civil war buff and in my opinion is one of the best American biographies or memoirs written.

These are just a few sample excerpts from over 70 chapters!

CHAPTER I.

ANCESTRY--BIRTH--BOYHOOD.

My family is American, and has been for generations, in all its
branches, direct and collateral.................

CHAPTER VI.

ADVANCE OF THE ARMY--CROSSING THE COLORADO--THE RIO GRANDE.

The infantry under General Taylor was armed with flint-lock
muskets, and paper cartridges charged with powder, buck-shot and
ball. At the distance of a few hundred yards a man might fire at
you all day without your finding it out. The artillery was
generally six-pounder brass guns throwing only solid shot; but
General Taylor had with him three or four twelve-pounder
howitzers throwing shell, besides his eighteen-pounders before
spoken of, that had a long range. This made a powerful
armament. The Mexicans were armed about as we were so far as
their infantry was concerned, but their artillery only fired
solid shot. We had greatly the advantage in this arm...................

CHAPTER XVI.
RESIGNATION--PRIVATE LIFE--LIFE AT GALENA--THE COMING CRISIS.

There is little doubt in my mind now that the prevailing
sentiment of the South would have been opposed to secession in
1860 and 1861, if there had been a fair and calm expression of
opinion, unbiased by threats, and if the ballot of one legal
voter had counted for as much as that of any other. But there
was no calm discussion of the question. Demagogues who were too
old to enter the army if there should be a war, others who
entertained so high an opinion of their own ability that they
did not believe they could be spared from the direction of the
affairs of state in such an event, declaimed vehemently and
unceasingly against the North; against its aggressions upon the
South; its interference with Southern rights, etc., etc. They
denounced the Northerners as cowards, poltroons, negro-
worshippers; claimed that one Southern man was equal to five
Northern men in battle; that if the South would stand up for its
rights the North would back down. Mr. Jefferson Davis said in a
speech, delivered at La Grange, Mississippi, before the
secession of that State, that he would agree to drink all the
blood spilled south of Mason and Dixon's line if there should be
a war. The young men who would have the fighting to do in case
of war, believed all these statements, both in regard to the
aggressiveness of the North and its cowardice. They, too, cried
out for a separation from such people. The great bulk of the
legal voters of the South were men who owned no slaves; their
homes were generally in the hills and poor country; their
facilities for educating their children, even up to the point of
reading and writing, were very limited; their interest in the
contest was very meagre--what there was, if they had been
capable of seeing it, was with the North; they too needed
emancipation. Under the old regime they were looked down upon
by those who controlled all the affairs in the interest of
slave-owners, as poor white trash who were allowed the ballot so
long as they cast it according to direction.......

CHAPTER XVII.
OUTBREAK OF THE REBELLION--PRESIDING AT A UNION
MEETING--MUSTERING OFFICER OF STATE TROOPS--LYON AT CAMP
JACKSON--SERVICES TENDERED TO THE GOVERNMENT.

...........The 4th of March, 1861, came, and Abraham Lincoln was sworn to
maintain the Union against all its enemies. The secession of
one State after another followed, until eleven had gone out. On
the 11th of April Fort Sumter, a National fort in the harbor of
Charleston, South Carolina, was fired upon by the Southerners
and a few days after was captured. The Confederates proclaimed
themselves aliens, and thereby debarred themselves of all right
to claim protection under the Constitution of the United
States. We did not admit the fact that they were aliens, but
all the same, they debarred themselves of the right to expect
better treatment than people of any other foreign state who make
war upon an independent nation. Upon the firing on Sumter
President Lincoln issued his first call for troops and soon
after a proclamation convening Congress in extra session. The
call was for 75,000 volunteers for ninety days' service. If the
shot fired at Fort Sumter "was heard around the world," the call
of the President for 75,000 men was heard throughout the
Northern States. There was not a state in the North of a
million of inhabitants that would not have furnished the entire
number faster than arms could have been supplied to them, if it
had been necessary.........

CHAPTER XXIV.
THE ARMY AT PITTSBURG LANDING--INJURED BY A FALL--THE
CONFEDERATE ATTACK AT SHILOH--THE FIRST DAY'S FIGHT AT
SHILOH--GENERAL SHERMAN--CONDITION OF THE ARMY--CLOSE
OF THE FIRST DAY'S FIGHT--THE SECOND DAY'S FIGHT--RETREAT AND
DEFEAT OF THE CONFEDERATES.

............The drenching rain would have precluded the possibility of sleep
without this additional cause. Some time after midnight, growing
restive under the storm and the continuous pain, I moved back to
the log-house under the bank. This had been taken as a
hospital, and all night wounded men were being brought in, their
wounds dressed, a leg or an arm amputated as the case might
require, and everything being done to save life or alleviate
suffering. The sight was more unendurable than encountering the
enemy's fire, and I returned to my tree in the rain........

On the night of the 18th, the enemy crossed the
mountains which separate the branches of the Shenandoah, forded
the North Fork, and early on the morning of the 19th, under
cover of the darkness and the fog, surprised and turned our left
flank, and captured the batteries which enfiladed our whole
line. Our troops fell back with heavy loss and in much
confusion, but were finally rallied between Middletown and
Newtown. At this juncture, General Sheridan, who was at
Winchester when the battle commenced arrived on the field,
arranged his lines just in time to repulse a heavy attack of the
enemy, and immediately assuming the offensive, he attacked in
turn with great vigor. The enemy was defeated with great
slaughter, and the loss of most of his artillery and trains, and
the trophies he had captured in the morning. The wreck of his
army escaped during the night, and fled in the direction of
Staunton and Lynchburg. Pursuit was made to Mount Jackson. Thus
ended this, the enemy's last attempt to invade the North via the
Shenandoah Valley.
