You are bidding on a kit to make a 14 fret D size guitar in indian rosewood and sitka spruce from Martin parts. This kit feautres a style 41 fretboard that is bound and inlaid with abalone hexagon position markers and scalloped top bracing. This kit requires that the buyer provide a few more parts that are typical for my kits so be sure to read all the way to the end of the listing so that you know what is included and what is not. Not a Martin boxed kit but made up from parts purchased at the Martin factory for use in my luthiery shop. All parts are first quality unless otherwise noted. All parts guaranteed to be compatible with one another to make the guitar that is described. Please read the entire description before asking questions, as the answer to your question may already be in the listing. The kit includes the following: Solid indian rosewood back (factory joined with style 28 'checker' back strip, straight grained, the wood shows rich purple/brown color, profile and bracing positions marked), solid indian rosewood sides (factory bent, profiled and trimmed, the color and grain is a very good match for the back, the lower bout curves have relaxed a bit but they fit well into a D form with no problem), solid sitka spruce top (factory joined and rosetted, very tight grain at the center, well quarter sawn and quite stiff, top bracing positions and profile marked), solid mahogany neck (25.4" scale, mortise and tenon joint, factory machined to near final profile, rosewood headstock veneer, there are two very tiny wormholes in either side of the headstock measuring about 1/64" each that will fill easily with wood dust and glue and will be almost invisible once the neck is stained prior to finishing, cosmetic only and very minor at that), ebony fretboard (factory bound, slotted and inlaid with style 41 abalone hexagon position markers, 1 11/16" nut width), ebony bridge (belly, 2 1/8" pin spacing with vintage style long saddle slot), X/A hybrid pattern top bracing (5/16" gauge with scalloped X and tone bars), back bracing, kerfed cedar lining and birch neck and tail blocks. The buyer will provide the following items which are all commonly available through various luthier supply outlets: saddle, nut, pickguard, white bindings and top purfling, heel cap and end graft, fretwire, bridge pins, tuners, glue and finish. All parts are first quality unless otherwise noted. All parts a guaranteed to be compatible with one another to make the guitar described in the listing. No such guarantee can be offered to cover buyer labor and end result. There are no blueprints or instructions for this kit (blueprints really aren't necessary as all the layout and shaping work is done for you or marked/patterned on the parts). I can provide referral to various sources for these materials on request. Questions? Email me. But please do so as early in the auction as possible.
