10 DAY AUCTION!  MODEST RESERVE!  CHECK OUT OUR OTHER STERLING SILVER, ANTIQUE, AND JEWELRY AUCTIONS!  Gorgeous and rare 143 piece antique Gorham "Chantilly" sterling silver flatware service for approximately twelve in excellent original condition.  One family owned since new.  The set is fancy and ornate, and is comprised of twelve eight-piece place settings with several extra pieces. The set is in overall excellent pre-owned condition and is ready to be used with minor polishing.  The set shows some normal use and has obviously been well cared for.  Very heavy, substantial pieces that are extremely well made by this world renowned company.  Most pieces have NO MONOGRAMS with the exception of nineteen pieces that do have monograms.  Those pieces with monograms are specified in the following inventory.  The set includes the following pieces: 8 dinner knives (5 7/8" blade, 4" handle);  9 luncheon (?) knives (5" blade, 4" handle); 12 round end knives (5 1/2" blade, 3" handle):  9 butter knives (6");  8 dinner  forks (7 1/2");  9 luncheon (?)  forks (7");  12  salad forks (7") (all twelve of the salad forks have monograms), 20 dessert (?) forks (6 1/2");  9 soup spoons (6 3/8");  22 teaspoons ( 5 7/8") ( two of the tea spoons have monograms),  6 Demitasse spoons (4 1/8");  4 grapefruit  spoons (4 7/8") (all four of the grapefruit spoons has monograms),  4 gravy(?) ladles (6 7/8");  2 large salad (?) forks (8 7/8");  1 cream ladle (5 1/4"); 1 pastry (?) knife (9 7/8");  1 carving fork (8 7/8");  1 carving knife (10 1/8");  1 large salad spoon (9") (the large salad spoon has monogram), 1 salad fork (8 1/2"); 1 berry spoon (8 7/8"); 1 jelly spoon (6 1/8"); 1 cocktail fork (5 7/8").  NOTE: we are not experts in exact silver terminology, so please look at the photos and measurements provided.  The set weighs 4419 grams for all of the pieces not including the following.  The knives & carving set with sterling handles and steel blades weigh an additional 2093 grams.  There is at least $2500 in silver alone, not including the steel blades!  Sets this huge just don't come around too often.  Whether you are looking for a huge set, or already have this iconic pattern and need more for larger parties, this is a truly great oportunity!  Complete with its original fitted zippered case.  Fully signed and hallmarked.  Absolutely gorgeous!
