The watch has a clean 14K SOLID GOLD case, not plated or gold filled etc..  Beautiful engravings...marked 14K inside the frame.  Gold is approaching $1100 per ounce....and there is talk of $2000 per ounce next year.  A pocket watch like this is safer than money in the bank.  In times of fiscal instability(like when the stock market begins to fishtail & then implodes)...people will automatically scramble for GOLD.
