This instrument is made by Wilhelm Herwig and was purchased from Huthmaker's Violins in 1998. There is no year marked on the instrument, but my luthier told me that the instrument came out of Germany just prior to Nazi occupation and was actually unfinished when he purchased it, hence the unmarked year.
The viola itself if 15 1/4" (perfect for small hands!). It is a great intermediate-advanced instrument. All the fittings are ebony, the varnish is orange/red with double purfling.
The case is a custom-fit BAM classic viola case in hunter green. I am also including a Kun original shoulder rest.
