This beloved 1920's Japanese doll stands just under 15 inches tall. All-original, he has a composition swivel head, a compo shoulder plate, a cloth torso containing a nonfunctioning ?wooden mama crier device and excellent composition lower arms and legs. In soiled condition, he also has a cracked left inset glass eye and paint loss in areas. He otherwise has a charming appeal with a real hair wig and matching sideburns. His face was manufactured with molded lids, nostril breather holes and with an incised line to denote a chin. He also has well formed ears and grey shading beneath his wig. Despite soiling and slight paint loss to some areas of his lower extremities, they have retained their smooth, original finish and are largely undamaged. Similar to the Motschmann bodies, he too has a composition pelvis (albeit unpainted) beneath his paper dress. The cloth over his floating arms and legs are stuffed with wool and sawdust. He is decorated with a gorgeous, colorful beaded glass necklace. The beads, some of which are textured, do look old. Once cleaned and dressed, he will present so much better.
