ABSOLUTELY NON-EXISTENT ON THE MARKET!

 

[1567 First Edition] "A LEARNED COMMENDATION OF THE POLITIQUE LAWES OF ENGLANDE…"  By John Fortescue. Printed by Rychard Tottill, London in the Fletestrete within Temple Barre, 1567. With 270 printed pages or 135 leaves including table, 100% COMPLETE with the Dated colophon on the final leaf. no blanks. 5 x 3 1/2 inches, bound in 1800s 3/4 brown leather with marbled boards. Spine stamped in blind in 5 compartments, gilt lettered black spine label (chipped). Bottom 1 1/2 inches of Title page bottom BLANK margin replaced at an early date with laid paper NOT affecting any text! I took this to Harvard University and compared it with their copy and it is Complete. Also the bottom of their Title page was / is also blank. Thin 1 inch horizontal worm hole through the bottom right corner of the pages in the book affecting some words. Clean and tight. Generally a VERY GOOD copy of this EXCEEDINGLY RARE FIRST EDITION!!! STC 11194. Beale T357.
