This is "The Holy Bible," Containing the Old Testament and the New. Translated out of the original Tingues, and with the former Translations diligently Compared and Revised by His Majesties Special Command. The Old Testament is the only page missing, and the title page to New Testament reads as follows: The New Testament of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Translated out of the Greeke by Theod. Beza: With briefe Summaries and expositions upon the hard places by the said Author, Ioac Camer. and P. Loseler. Villerius. Englished by L. Tomson. Together with the Annotations of FR. Junius upon the Revelation of St. John. Imprinted at London by the Deputies of Christopher Barker, Printer to the Queenes most Excellent Majestie. 1599. It is bound in original full brown leather fine binding, with blindstamped/tooled decoration to both boards, the spine has been reinforced with leather bands/straps, and there are card like panels placed on the spine. There are over 30 woodcut engravings present in the text and throughout the book, and several of them are small maps. Containing almost 1000 pages, with dimensions of 9" x 7" x 2" thick, and it weighs 1.4kg unpacked.

The condition is excellent given the books great age, and apart from the above mentioned title page to Old Testament being missing the book is complete. Only other significant blemishes are that there are repairs to edges of first and third page, a small hole to first page also but with no loss of text, and next two pages have small loss to top corner with minimal loss of text. There is also one page with small section of bottom corner missing {see pics}, otherwise all other pages are present and intact. The binding has been reinforced with leather straps as mentioned, and as both boards would have become detached in the past, but as a result of reinforcement are now both secured in place. There is also occasional light marking and age toning to pages, but generally contents are remarkably clean and bright throughout, typical of ones pictured below, and general condition of this Bible is very well preserved.
