15th Century Illuminated Manuscript Leaf, in Syriac

15th Century Illuminated Manuscript Leaf, in Syriac, Gershuni, and Aramaic on Vellum.  A rare complete manuscript leaf from the 15th Century.  The Syriac and Gershuni are written in large Serto (Jacobite, i.e. Western) script on one side, on the other, it is written in Aramaic.  The Syriac script consists of 20 lines, in brown, red, gold, and black inks.  The Aramaic script consists of 22 lines and is written in black and brown inks.  There is a large heading on the Syriac side.  This leaf measures approximately 6.75 x 9 inches.  It is very likely that it was written in Jerusalem.  Edges have been closely trimmed.  The leaf appears to have been treated with some kind of oil for the purpose of preservation.  This is a handsome example of an early Syriac and Aramaic scripts.  [Code:Syr1].
