The Four Gospels of Jesus Christ in Arabic. First Edition in This Format, 2nd overall. Rome: Ex Typographia Medicea, 1619, vi + 9-462 + i pages, Folio 13.5" x 9.5" inches (33.5 x 22.5 cm). Beautifully rebound in Full Calf Leather with corner decorations! Engraved Title page Dated 1619. With 150 Large Woodcut illustrations in text, and many head and tail pieces. Some edge repairs to a few leaves, slight foxing, and slight damp staining, mainly marginal, otherwise in a very good copy. The work is essentially a reprint of the 1591 First Edition although with additional four prefatory leaves containing title, verso blank, Dedication Illustrissimo et Rever. Principe Carolo Madrutio S. R. E. CardinaliAmplissimo, Io. Antonius Rudolfus F. Title page printed in red and black with the Cardinal's coat of arms. [See Darlow & Moule 1643]

NOTE: The First Arabic New Testament Gospels ever printed (1591) didn't have a Title page or preliminary leaves (as printed and issued) but the 1619 Second Arabic New Testament Gospels has both Title Page and Preliminaries (This Bible being sold), and is More sought after than the first!
