16C Queen Anne Style Mahogany Server Dresser Sideboard
Free Delivery to United Kingdom and Ireland

Description:
This is a fabulous late 16th early 17th Century William and Mary / Queen Anne design flame mahogany three drawer server / sideboard / dresser.  The server stands on carved cabriole legs with hairy hoof feet with carved hairy decoration with decorative carvings above the knee, united by a beautiful and very unusual turned stretcher base with turnings running back to front and along the length of the dresser.  There is lovely scrollwork to the cabriole leg knees, above which are the classic ogee arched cock-beaded edges to the flame mahogany veneered panel with beautiful mahogany panels to the sides of classic dowelled mortise and tennon construction.  The drawers have solid oak linings with hand-cut dovetails and solid oak drawer bottoms with beautiful solid brass dropper handles of swan-neck and batwing form.  The original locks are fitted although we have no key.  Rising above is the flame mahogany top with lovely quartered mirrored veneers with solid mahogany mouldings to the edge veneered on a solid mahogany base.  A fine quality dresser of English or possibly Danish origin.  The lovely quality piece of furniture, retaining its original finish and having good colour and patination.

Date:
The server dresser sideboard dates from the late 19th Century.

Condition:
The server dresser sideboard is in very nice condition, having one or two minor veneer chips around the aperture where the drawers fit, although these are not visible when the drawers are in place.  There is one small chip in the centre drawer on the top corner of the cross-grain moulding, otherwise in very good condition and firm of joint having a good rich dark mahogany colour to the top with a rich mahogany colour to the front.  There is a little fading on the legs due to light, but this only adds to character and authenticity.

Dimensions:
Width: 74 inches (188cm)
Depth: 19 inches (48cm)
Serving Height: 33 inches (84cm)
