Ektachrome 100D
- 100ft. Daylight Spool
100 Speed Color Reversal
Film (7285)
16mm Motion Picture Film - Single
Perf. (1R)

Description:
Ektachrome 100D (Ektachrome 100D 7285) is a 100 speed, high
color
reversal motion picture camera film intended for photography under
daylight illumination (5500K). It offers strikingly saturated
color performance while maintaining a neutral grey scale and accurate
flesh reproduction. This film has exceptional sharpness that
is
unsurpassed by any other 100 speed reversal technology, and its grain
performance is excellent. Film 7285 offers outstanding
results in
studio applications where strong color saturation is desired.
It
is excellent for advertising, nature cinematography, documentaries,
music videos, and is especially good for telecine
transfers.
16mm is as popular as
ever!!
People
everywhere are
realizing the merits of film over digital video from film students to
professional film-makers to casual home movie makers like
myself.
I can honestly tell you that I have taken just as much film footage in
the past year as I have digital. It's hard to explain, but my
family and I prefer the
look of film to video.
Make your movies
last!!
The archival properties of film
assure me
that my two-year-old will be able to enjoy the videos that I am taking
today when he is a grand-father!! The VHS movies that my
parents
shot just a few years ago look absolutely terrible and will continue to
degrade whether we're watching them or not. Film is
different. Don't believe me? Try it. Find
some family
members that have taken footage back in the 50s or 60s and run it
through a clean and
serviced
projector. Not
bad for 50 years
old!!! As with anything, if you don't have
family film,
you can get on ebay and buy someone else's family film to perform the
test with!
Processing
is not a problem!!
Processing is still readily available and affordable from
professional labs (Just do a google search for "8mm film
processing"). Process for this film is E6. My own
personal
recommendations are
Minnesota
Film
& Video for
black-and-white film and
Dwayne's
of
Kansas for color film.
Film
Storage and Age
I store my film in a special cooler at the proper temperature (below 55
degrees fahrenheit) and keep my prices low to keep stock
moving.
Rest assured that the film you are purchasing has been received
directly from Kodak within the past month.
Think
Fresh!
What
other 16mm film stocks do you carry?
I carry three
different varieties of 16mm film at my ebay store. A
brief description of each is as follows:
Kodak
Tri-X 7266 - A high-speed
(200 ASA) black-and-white reversal motion picture film for use under
conditions of low-level illumination such as for night sports
photography. It is not suitable for bright sunlight unless
the
camera can provide proper exposure (automatic or manual).
This
makes a for a good indoor film.
Perfect for catching the
kiddies
expressions on Christmas morning!
Kodak Plus-X
7265 - A
medium-speed (100 ASA)
black-and white reversal motion picture film for use outdoors in
average daylight and indoors where there is adequate light for proper
exposure. This film is less expensive than color film and
makes a good choice for either budget-conscious film-makers or those
looking to obtain that classic black-and-white "look".
We filmed a friendly work
football
game with this film stock and it was great! I use this film
more
than any other.
Ektachrome
100D 7285 - a 100 speed, high-color reversal motion
picture film intended for photography under daylight illumination
(5500K). It offers strikingly saturated color performance
while
maintaining neutral gray scale and accurate flesh
reproduction.
Film 7285 has exceptional sharpness that is unsurpassed by any other
100-speed reversal technology, and its grain performance is
excellent. This
film is
excellent for advertising, documentaries, music videos, or nature
cinematography. I was personally very pleased with the
results
obtained from this film on last summer's canoeing adventure.
This
film lives up to the hype!
Will
this film work in my camera?
Here
is a brief listing of cameras that take single perf. film (1R) in
100ft. loads:
Arriflex
- Arri S
Auricon - All models
Bell & Howell "70 series" aka "Filmo" - Post WWII models, check
for
second row of teeth on drive sprockets (second row means you need
double perf.)
Bolex - H16 with serial number higher than 76471 (circa. 1952 and up)
Canon - Scoopic (all models)
Krasnogorsk - 3 (K-3)
and many more...
Please
note that this film will not work in 16mm "magazine" cameras or cameras
that require double perf. (2R) film. If you have questions,
just
ask.
How
many minutes of filming will I get from one 100ft. spool?
That
depends on your film speed. Every foot of 16mm film has 40
frames, so 100ft. of 16mm film has 4000 frames. Divide 4000
by
your speed in fps to determine the number of seconds you will get from
one spool.

Do
you carry Super 8 film as well?
Yes,
I carry four different varieties of Super 8 Cartridges at my ebay store.
A
brief description of each is as follows:
Kodak
Ektachrome 64T
7280 - A
color reversal motion
picture film that features excellent color reproduction, fine grain,
and sharpness.
This
is my
best selling film and for good reason. The colors are
beautiful,
just make sure you have enough light!
Kodak Plus-X
7265 - A
medium-speed (100 ASA)
black-and white reversal motion picture film for use outdoors in
average daylight and indoors where there is adequate light for proper
exposure. This film is less expensive than the color films
and
makes a good choice for either budget-conscious film-makers or those

Kodak
Vision2 200T 7217 - A color negative film featuring
accurate
color reproduction and wide latitude with excellent shadow and
highlight detail. The choice for professionals and aspiring
amateurs. Since
this film
is negative film, it is not meant for direct projection. This
film will need to transferred to digital format via telecine before it
can be viewed. Probably not the choice for most home movie
makers
due to cost, but can yield absolutely stunning results if used
properly.
What
about Regular 8mm (aka. Double 8mm) film?
Yes,
I carry three different varieties of Regular 8mm Film at my ebay store.
The same varieties that I stock in 16mm are also available in 25ft.
