Thank you for reading this listing, which is for a used 16mm color and sound print of the 1974 British Hammer horror movie FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL, directed by Terence Fisher and starring Peter Cushing, Shane Briant, Madeline Smith, with David Prowse as the Monster. For more information about this movie, please do a search of this title on the International Movie Data Base at: www.imdb.com. I will now discuss the pluses and minuses of the print itself. Mounted on three 1600 foot reels, the print is in very nice physical condition in the sense that it still has its original head and tail leaders at the beginnings and ends of all three reels. Usually there is a splice at the ends and beginnings of reels. Also, I only counted three splices in the body of the story---one splice in each of the three reels which is a very low splice count. And the three splices I did notice are not bad ones at all. In addition, lines are not a problem. Wear in the print show up as little green speckles at the beginning or ends of reels (where most wear is usually evident in prints). However, these green speckles soon disappear. I mention them not because they are that bad, but because I try to be as detailed as possible when selling my films. (Much more detailed, in fact, than the person who sold them to me many years ago!!) Therefore, I may give the impression that a film's condition is worse than it really is!! Next, I will discuss the color of the print. The color has changed a bit over the years BUT not as much as I had expected. In the beginning of the movie, there are night scenes and I noticed the pinkish cast. But it seemed to improve in the daylight indoor scenes. In other words, the print still has a pinkish cast; HOWEVER, you will see a little blue in the sky, in a bottle in Dr. Frankenstein's lab inside the prison, and you will see green in some of the vegetation, and in the pretty green lamps in the Doctor's lab. You will also see greenish behind the candle light in the scene when the prison director is applying cologne to himself. You will also see bluish green during the thunderstorm at the climax of the movie when the monster is in the graveyard. In conclusion, if you only want perfect color, this print is not for you. But if you want acceptable color, this print should do fine. And I don't think they make 16mm prints of movies like this anymore, so if you like this movie, this may be a chance to find one of the best prints available of this title. Note: This is the standard version of the movie, as released in the United States. Has the MPAA tag at the end of the movie, so I guess this is not a TV print. ?? This print can be be shipped anywhere in the USA by Insured Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation for only $9.08, assuming that the insurance does not exceed $200. Insurance in other amounts would vary the total shipping cost, of course. Please add $1.50 to the final price if you would like Signature Confirmation, instead of Delivery Confirmation. Someone will have to sign for the package with Signature Confirmation. If you prefer Priority Mail, the cost will be higher than Media Mail and will depend on your zip code and the amount of the insured value. Shipping to other countries will depend on the mode of shipment and the individual cost of shipping to that particular country. PayPal is preferred, but checks or money orders may be sent to George Stover, P.O. Box 10005, Baltimore, Maryland 21285-0005. However, personal checks may first have to clear before the package is shipped. Thank you.
