What is a 'Demo' ladder? A demo ladder is a new ladder that has minor imperfections, such as scratches, dings, or minor dents. All demo ladders have been thoroughly inspected to ensure they meet the same quality standards of a brand new ladder.

Where do demo ladders come from? They are ladders that have gone to a Home Show and have been demonstrated for customers, or have been display models. They also can be returns that have minor imperfections and can't be sold as new.

Why buy a demo ladder vs a brand new ladder? A demo ladder is the exact same ladder as a new ladder advertised on tv, just with minor imperfections. With normal use a brand new ladder is going to become a 'demo' ladder anyway, so this is a great way to save $ off the price of a new one.

The Type 1A "Basic" is the same ladder as the $359.80 "AS SEEN ON TV!" ladder, however this ladder DOES NOT have the wheels or Tri-lock hinge as that ladder. It does however come with the standard Heavy Duty Little Giant Hinges, that are just as strong as the Tri-Lock hinge. CAUTION! Beware of the Little Giant Ladder imitators that claim their ladder is "similar" to a Little Giant, but use cheap components or cut corners in the manufacturing process. For example, some imitators use skimpy single pass welds to attach the rungs to the ladder. These skimpy welds meet the basic minimum to pass OSHA requirements, but don't expect them to last long. Even more shocking however is that many of the imitators are now using a newer and cheaper process where they smash flat the ends of the outer rungs and then rivet them to the ladder. They are smashed flat on the ends to make it easier and cheaper to rivet them on the ladder. Little Giant doesn't cut corners during the manufacturing process to save a few bucks, they use double pass welds which is a more expensive process, but produces a higher quality product. Little Giant outer rungs won't become loose and rickety over time like riveted rungs, and they won't weaken and fail like skimpy single pass welds can.  Little Giant has been building this quality ladder here in the USA for over 30 years!
