This auction is for an antique Parian doll.  She is approximately 17 inches tall.  Her bisque shoulderplate is incised with "IV" at the lower front edge.  Her shoulder head measures 3 1/2 inches high and approximately 4 inches across.  She has painted features with red detail lines above each eye and at the center of her lips.  Her hair is sculpted and painted in a cafe au lait brown color.  Her bisque is damage free with no hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration.  She has a sawdust filled cloth body with kid lower arms and hands (one hand missing some fingers).  It is in overall good condition with mostly age related soiling.  She is wearing a fabulous antique skirt, jacket and top.  The ensemble is made of striped silk, silk velvet ribbon, laces, early ribbon of grey, cream and black, and black silk velvet.  Unfortunately, it is very frail and has quite a bit of melting, torn lace and other condition issues.  Shows well on her but cannot be handled much.  She is from a smoke free home and is completely odor free.  Her doll stand is not included.  This is a very early and wonderful doll.  I am offering her at NO reserve, so take this opportunity to add her to your collection today!!
