I ship on Saturdays due to my work schedule. However, once someone has paid for an item, I try to pack it up and ship it the next day. My ability to do so depends on the time of school year because I am a teacher.
If you need an item within a week, only Priority Mail will accomplish this. I offer customers BOTH choices on most items. Large items such as lamps may require special shipping boxes which will be charged at cost only. No shipping to International Addresses other than Canada.
Bidders with a feedback score less than 10 may not be accepted and will have their bids automatically cancelled.
Payments for winning bids must be received within 5 days of the winning bid or I reserve the right to relist the item.
·I do not charge an extra handling fee. I offer combined shipping on multiple purchases at no extra cost whenever possible as long as the weight of the package is about the same. I am not responsible for packages once the US Postal Service has accepted them. By bidding, you are agreeing to these conditions.
·Packaging: I package the items with care to ensure that they are protected during shipping.
·Insurance: Optional but strongly recommended. Cost of insurance depends on the $ of the winning bid.
·Payment: Paypal
·Returns: Returns are accepted only in the very unlikely event that an item is misrepresented—otherwise, all sales are final.
·Most of my items are vintage/antique and have been used and enjoyed and will show normal signs of wear.
·No item is perfect or mint condition unless described as such. I take great care to assure that items are accurately described and pictured.
·In order to prevent misunderstandings, please email any questions before the end of the auction and I will respond as quickly as possible.
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This auction is for an ANTIQUE Lithograph (note the mirror-reverse date on bottom print!) of a drawing by naturalist G. Edwards (see information below on this print and artist/early environmentalist). This print comes FRAMED so that the measurments are: 16" by 13".
George Edwards ( 1694 - 1773 ) is often considered to be the father of British ornithology, although his work included descriptions and illustrations of many exotic species as well as natives of Britain. He was naturally gifted as a scientist and draughtsman, and he was also fortunate in attracting the friendship of men such as Sir Hans Sloane and Mark Catesby. For many years he made drawings of animals for Sloane, and when he began to consider writing and illustrating his own book birds, Catesby taught him the technique of engraving, as he himself says in his introduction to "Gleanings of Natural History". We are proud to offer this engraving by George Edwards. Original engravings by him are extremely difficult to obtain.
