Very fine condition. Original engraving published in Leiden, 1778 Dutch edition of Captain Cook's voyages. 

A view of Eastern Island with its mysterious Moai.

Captain James Cook (1728-79), explorer, circumnavigator and hydrographer. Three voyages, 1768-71, 1772-75 and 1776-79.

This plate from a 1778 Dutch edition of  "Captain Cook's Voyages", which appeared in English, Italian, French and Dutch.
