We are offering an early period 19th Century stenciled fancy chair believe to be from the 1820s-30s era.. Believe to be from the New England area referring to design.. Has many characteristics of the maker John Hull from Killingsworth Conneticut and also shows early Hitchcock influence.. Your comments are welcome.. Exact age and origin is unknown..

AWESOME DESIGN

Exact wood construction unknown.. ALL ORIGINAL black paint over red.. Nicely shaped rectangular crest and slightly curved center slat are profusely decorated in a vibrant stencil and free hand style with powdered gold mixed in with the oil paint.. Beautifully turned front legs and delicate knob feet.. Unusual concave curved front stretcher showing appropriate surface wear.. Caned seat..

Floor to seat 17 1/2" high
Seat 18" wide at front x 15" wide at back x 14 1/4" deep at side

CONDITION:: Overall good.. Solid.. Caned seat shows tearing and loss.. Original paint and stencil finish shows appropriate wear and distressing.. Back top crest shows age crack but remains intact and solid.. See photos for condition and details..
