Description:
**WELCOME**
You are bidding on one very well preserved Victorian Birdseye Maple Burl Frame with Gold Gesso Gilted Edges, housing an original period print of the Duchess of Devonshire, and please note that it is not a a modern reproduction. These Gainsborough prints are still being reproduced today, however, this is an authentic period print original to the frame. I am not an art expert, but it appears to have been drawn in either chalk or pencil as this is not a lithograph or etching.
What you are purchasing here is a most unusual frame with a uniquely old print, both being hard-to-come by, if not impossible in the condition they both are in. The outer edge of this gorgeous frame is done in an ornate leaf design and at the interior along the glass is a carved beaded design. The entire back of the frame is solid wood also, and since I am not well-versed in types of woods as I'd like to be, I cannot say for certain what type is on the back.
I have no true damage to note, other indications attributable to age. You will notice a horizontal line in one photograph; I don't know what it is, but it probably has everything to do with age and the type of paper and the process that was used to create it.
The overall dimensions of the frame are as follows: 22 inches in length from top to bottom of the oval, 18-1/2 inches wide, and 1 inch thick. I cannot say for certain whether or not the print inside is oval in shape or if it is square.
This item can be viewed in person by visiting Now and Again Antiques, located at 1115 Main Street in Fallston, Maryland. If you need directions, just email me and I'd be happy to forward them to you. The store is open seven (7) days a week. Hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday from Noon until 5 p.m. Please be sure to sign the guest book and let us know how you heard about the shop.
I have specified Local Pick Up on this item, however, if you would care to have it shipped, it would have to be done professionally. I'll be more than happy to assist with finding a suitable courier.
PLEASE BE SURE TO SCROLL ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM FOR PHOTOGRAPHS, FURTHER DESCRIPTION, AND AUCTION TERMS. THANK YOU.

THESE ARE MY SIMPLE AUCTION TERMS:
All items are sold in "As Is" condition, especially Antiques, as they can have occasional wear spots, dents, and scratches that cannot or should not be removed as that would lessen the value, and you would be purchasing a restored item and it would be valued far less than what you would expect for an original antique. As with any antique you will see signs of age to include scuffing to stain, a nick here and there, or a separation in a joint; I am stating this because when purchasing antiques, most pieces can and will have their "war-wounds" (ever so slight or even major). Such is very common, but more often than not, those dings, nicks, or even repairs may very well add charm, character, or uniqueness to the piece. I ask you to take these facts into consideration when making your purchase.
THIS IS MY PROMISE TO YOU:
I will give always give you as much information that I have acquired or that was passed on to me when I purchased or acquired the item. I do describe all items to the best of my ability. I will point out any blemishes, and list any item that I am aware of as not original. I ask you to please take into consideration that I am not an expert on anything and I always present you with as much information as I can, and on some occasions will have to allow my photographs to speak for me. Since no two persons look at an item exactly the same way , please be aware of this should your opinion differ from my description.
Please feel free to correct me on any description detail as it will allow me to pass that information along.
THESE ARE MY DELIVERY POLICIES
Most items can be personally delivered within a 250-Mile radius from Bel Air, Maryland21014 to your ground-level entrance as I cannot do flights of stairs. Please have your helpers ready on your end for deliveries of heavier items.
If you elect to pick up an item, please be sure to have bungee cords/ropes/cargo nets, blankets and such with you, as I cannot supply wrapping materials.
HERE ARE MY SHIPPING POLICIES:
I usually ship smaller items on Tuesdays and Fridays using USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. I do offer UPS or DHL upon request, with DHL normally coming in as the least expensive option. Buyers are responsible for actual shipping costs and there will sometimes be a small packing and handling charge to ensure that items will arrive in the condition they are in presently.
Although shipping arrangements are the sole responsibility of the Buyer, I can gladly assist you with your arrangements, as I can put you in contact with a local packer/contract shipper who can furnish you with a quote to nearly anywhere in the Continental U.S. All charges incurred are paid directly to the carrier, and are separate from the winning bid total. I do not package larger furniture items for transport but can recommend a local packing/shipping agent who does that, and that cost is added onto the charges by your carrier. Whenever it can be done safely, Blanket Wrap Service will be used to reduce costs. I also need you to be aware that sometimes it can take between 2 to 6 weeks for delivery, and I ask you to please be patient. If this too long of a wait time for, then I ask you not to place a bid.
**If you do place a bid on a larger item and have not inquired about shipping costs, I can only assume that you have your delivery arrangements finalized and your item will be picked up by you or the carrier of your choice within 7 days. If items cannot be picked within this timeframe, please email me and I’ll try to work with you to hold onto your item for you a bit longer. I thank you for your understanding and agreement to the above auction terms!!
