Description
Antique 1800's Turned and Carved wooden treadle sewing machine needle or bobbin spool box; Will hold up to 1 inch bobbins. Genuine, Lathe turned, with Original hand carving; Hand carved and handmade at the turn of the century. I will be offering 2 miniature hand carved pieces from the same estate collection in two separate auctions; If both auctions are won there will be no shipping charge for the second item. These were purchased together as a set in the historic town of Sedalia, Missouri; Home of the 19th century Bothwell Hotel and the Missouri State Fair. The streets are lined with antebellum homes and mansions where many items have been found stored for centuries in the 3rd story attics and boarded up 2nd story porches. Excellent All original condition; Nothing is damaged or has been altered or is missing and completely intact. Any age lines in the photographs are not cracks and do not go throught the wood - superficial natural age lines that are surface deep only. Wonderful Condition for an antique miniature - all of the edges have become worn smooth, slightly rounded, and darkened from over 100 years of gentle age ware; Truly one of a kind (See highly detailed pictures below). Not an import or reproduction; Bidding begins low for fairness. Excellent heirloom condition with no water damage, it is not weathered, and has no insect damage. Piece measures 3 ¾ inches tall by 1 5/8 inches wide at the bulbous part - inside is 1 1/8 inches wide and will hold bobbins up to 1 inch. You will be the first real owner of this estate antique as a collectible. This is a museum type piece. Bidding starts low for fairness. Would be a great piece to display with your old biscuit tins, tonic bottles, liniments, cheese boxes, curatives, cake molds, copper candy kettle, spice jar or drawers. Would make a lovely addition to your agate, enamel ware, or graniteware collection. Perfect size for a step back cabinet to display with your jadeite depression kitchen glassware, Hoosier canisters, Heinz pickle crock s, gingerbread or treen ware, or folk art collectibles. If you collect only the best like I do you will not want to miss out on this! You will really appreciate the unique craftsmanship of this beautiful one of a kind woodenware piece of American history - still very rich and well preserved. Heirloom keepsake condition. Amazing condition - very neat! I have never found any like this.(see pictures; very nice!). You will be able to tell right away just how very antiquated this is. Just a lovely unique piece! You can just imagine it on your Early American splay leg kitchen table with your cream can, maple sugar bucket, lollipop hung racks, or firkin collection. Would make a lovely addition to any Early American Colonial home, Mission, or William and Mary decor. Please ask any questions before bidding as item is not returnable. Thanks!
