Seller: Alley-Antiques
DESCRIPTION: Our opening bid is our reserve. Staffordshire Transferware. Incredible huge English footed brown transfer Punch bowl. One of the largest ironstone punch bowls we have seen. It dates back to the late 19th century. The registry numbers on the bottom date this to 1893. It is 115 years old and was made by Furnivals. Marked with a printed maker, impressed maker, and registry date code. The monumental size makes this a rarity. Measures just under 20" in diameter, at 19 1/2" wide and is 10" tall. It is actually a 2 color piece. It has a brown floral transfer highlighted with blue, all underglaze. Wonderful form with the footed pedestal base and scalloped ribbed bowl. Condition is excellent. Upon close inspection, there once was gold gilding on the foot and rim which has mostly worn away. Typical crazing. Hard to show its true size with pictures, but this piece is a monster. Incredible old brown transferware punch bowl. Not many old pieces this large out there. Measures 19 1/2" in diameter and 10" tall. The piece is huge and very heavy, so there is a fixed $95.00 shipping charge within the Continental US (insurance included).
