Selling here is the first edition of  James Johnson's 'The Oriental Voyager,' printed in London by Joyce Gold for James Asperne, 1807.  The contents are complete, meeting collation:  xvi, 388, [12] , with large folding frontispiece map and folding table. Bound in contemporary full calf, the upper board detached.

Condition:  The book measures 13.7cm by 22cm.  The binding is worn and rubbed, the upper board, front free end paper and blank detached. Text block otherwise holding firmly, pages generally in good clean condition though with some scattered foxing and browning on occasion and some offsetting from the map. Map in good condition, with just a few short splits to extremities of the folds. Title page appears to have contemporary ink inscription of the Duchess of Sussex. Original plain end papers.
