Seller: Alley-Antiques
DESCRIPTION: Our opening bid is our reserve. Staffordshire Transferware. Beautiful hard to find early blue transfer with an American view. This is from the "Fruit and Flower Border" series by Henshall, Williamson & Co. (1802-1828). The view is of "The Dam and Waterworks, Philadelphia". Marked with a printed pattern only. Fabulous view of the waterworks with a stern wheel steamboat in the central scene. Fabulous detail. The condition is very good. There are 4 or 5 tiny chips on the back footring. No other chips, cracks, or repairs. There are a few knife marks on the surface. The plate is nice and clean. The plate was professionally re-glazed. Most people wouldn't know it was re-glazed (the give-away is that the small chips on the back footring are now glazed over). The plate is beautiful and it displays excellently. This is a hard to find view and is very collectible. Measures 10" in diameter.
