Madame de Genlis, full name Stéphanie Félicité Ducrest de St-Aubin, comtesse de Genlis (January 25, 1746 - December 31, 1830) was a French writer and educator.
Most of her writings were translated into English almost as soon as they were published. A list of her writings with useful notes is given by Quérard in La France littéraire. Startling light was thrown on her relations with the duc de Chartres by the publication (1904) of her correspondence with him in L'Idylle d'un gouverneur by Gaston Maugras. CONDITION
The binding is tight and firm and both covers are firmly attached. The inner hinges are slightly strained but holding. There is some wear to the extremities including some bumping to the corners. Internally the book is generally clean and bright throughout with some mild background spotting. There is an ink signature to the top of the title page. The title page has been slightly cut down the fore edge, this does not affect the text.
