Mountains to the shores of the Polar sea, and a look at John Richardson's
descriptions of the
natural history objects collected on the 'northern land expeditions' under
the command of Captain sir John Franklin. Richardson's was considered one of
the most important
volumes published during the nineteenth century
dealing with Canadian mammals,
and was long renowned a standard work on the subject.
