1847 Pleyel Piano Played and Signed by Frederic Chopin
Condition: Autographed, completely playable, Pleyel #13555 is in museum-quality, original, unrestored condition. Only one other piano bearing Chopin's signature is known. It is in a Polish museum and not available for sale.
Specifics: This is a 6 and 3/4 octave piano, Pleyel Model E which was highly favored by Chopin for composing, practicing, teaching and small performances. It is 45 inches high and 49 inches wide with well-regulated overdamper birdcage action. Its somewhat ornate cabinet is in bird's-eye mahogany from the French West Indies.
Price: $650,000, which is far below the selling price of many other celebrity pianos.
