Place your bids on this $20 Farmer's & Exchange Bank of Charleston, South Carolina obsolete or broken bank note dated August 4, 1853. This is a Fine note with a fancy red back. It was printed by Rawdon,Wright, Hatch & Edson of New York and is hand-signed in ink by the Bank's cashier and president. "May" is stamped in red ink on the front and "CJW12204" is stamped in black ink on the front. The obverse is adorned with a vignette of a bustling levee scene complete with a steam locomotive, horses and wagons, freight, a sailing vessel and the steamer "Ettwan." A smaller vignette is comprised of a portrait of George Washington. THIS NOTE HAS NOT BEEN PROFESSIONALLY GRADED. THE ABOVE GRADE IS AN OPINION OF THE SELLER.
