** Very Good Condition **

A little wear to the leather at the spine head, and just a bit of rubbing to the leather .
No splitting in the leather, at all.
The Original Brass Clasp and Brass Binding Edges are in Very Good Condition. Note that the Brass at the fore-edge of the front board is slightly bent; just enough that the clasp doesn't snap quite as firmly as once it did, but the clasp does still close. The Brass at the fore-edge could probably be returned to it's original position if a little careful pressure was applied to it, but I leave this to the buyer's discretion. I will emphasize that this is pretty minor.
The Brass Clasp & Edges have not been cleaned, and retain their original antique patina.

The covers remain very solidly attached.
The Inner Hinges are Firm.
There is a name on the front blank endpaper [" Charles R. Keyes " There was a man by this name who was an Iowa Democrat and candidate for U.S. Senator from Iowa in 1918 , but I do not know if there is any relation.].
No other writing.
No markings.
The front free endpaper [a blank page, except for the name in old ink noted above ] has a bit of edgewear.
The Pages are Clean and in Exellent Condition.
The Color Map Plates are in Very Good Condition.

Recently treated with Bookbinder's Leather Preservative-Restorer to replenish essential oils and help preserve the old leather.
