Circa 1855.
This is an Antique Bible with a distressed brown leather cover that is 'envelope' style, with a fold-over flap. This closes securely by slipping this under a small leather 'belt' as shown.
This leather is worn smooth, soft, and has a warm patina!
There are four full pages in the back that are all handwritten, filled mostly with names and birth and death dates, all in the 1800s.
This Bible has more than 980 pages. I find none missing, and there are No tears or rips!
The edges of the pages of this fine book are Gold, and this gold is a little worn. This Bible is in VERY GOOD Condition!
The title page reads 'THE HOLY BIBLE, Containing The Old And New Testaments, Translated Out Of The Original Tongues: And With The Former Translations Diligently Compared And Revised
...NEW YORK: AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY, INSTITUTED IN THE YEAR 1816...1855'.
This Bible measures 3" x 4-1/2", and is 1-1/2" thick.
