Description (revised)

First made in 1859 and used during the United States Civil War by the Union Cavalry throughout the years of the war. This horse bit, number 4, is made of iron with the "US" bosses cast in bronze and mounted on both sides of the bit. The bit is 8 1/2" in length, 5 3/4" in width and 2 3/4" in height. This bit has the expected rusted surface and the bronze bosses has some scratches on them, but there are no cracks, breaks, repairs or missing pieces.Please email me any questions or concerns you have before bidding.
