1859 PRESIDENT JAMES BUCHANAN SIGNED BOUNTY DOCUMENT

TODAYS ITEM FOR AUCTION IS: a wonderful and historic document signed by President James Buchanan in 1859. In persuance of the Act of Congress approved March 3, 1855 entitled An Act in addition to certain Acts granting Bounty Land to certain Officers and Soldiers who have been engaged in the Military Service of the United States there has been deoisited in the General Land Office Warren No. 57995 for 160 acres in favor of Anastacio Arrellano, Private Captain Dens' Company, New Mexico Volunteers, New Mexico Indian Disturbances. It then give the description of the parcel. According to the Official Plat of the Survey of the said Land returned the General Land Office by the Surveyor General. The said warrant having been assigned by the said Anastacio Arrellano to Charles A. Davis, and Green Moore in whose favor in whose tract has been located. And so on.... The document was prepared by I.B. Leonard. There are two signatures of James Buchanan, the upper is done by his secretary when filling out the document, when it came to be signed the president used a different pen and boldly signed his name. The pen then passed to his secretary to sign. The document is 100% original and guarenteed. Has numerous folds, warrent number on back. Recorded Vol 257 page 403. A cut autograph recently sold on eBay for $800.00. I will start the bidding for this piece at $800 although we feel it is worth considerably more. Serious bidders only please.
